Picture mixing a 19th century French Baroque aesthetic using a demure yet innovative inside — and putting it in a quaint setting in that the English countryside. This is London-based theatre designer Niki Turner’s refurbished 5-bedroom home in Stroud, Gloucestershire and it is a feast for the eyes. Turner has done a wonderful job of balancing the opulent French Baroque exterior using a level of simplicity which makes this home radiate a sense of inner peace and equilibrium.
The enormous kitchen space unites with the dining region and is connected to — nevertheless visually separated from — an elevated research situated on the mezzanine level. While the blend of enormous distances and dark colors might appear not able to weigh down the disposition of the home’s central region, it is evident that particular care was paid to light and the addition of heat wood colors. Specifically, the kitchen island, dining room table and vintage cupboards radiate the space having an affable and homey feel.
